For some time, the only U.S. credit card issuer to offer its own collection of premium airport lounges was American Express with its popular Centurion Lounges.

Recently, however, Capital One has been making waves in the industry. Not only has it introduced its own premium credit card — the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card — but it also recently launched its own network of premium airport lounges.

At the moment, there’s just 1 Capital One Lounge open, with 2 more set to open in 2023 and a fourth location just approved. Despite its currently small network of spaces, they’re sure to impress any traveler who visits them.

In this guide, we will give you a deep dive into all of the Capital One Lounges, including those that haven’t opened just yet, along with their amenities, hours, and information on how you can access them.

How To Access Capital One Airport Lounges

The easiest way to gain regular access to Capital One Lounges is to be a Capital One Venture X cardholder. Those with the card receive unlimited complimentary access to all Capital One Lounge locations, plus you can bring 2 guests in with you each time you visit for free. If you’d like to add any guests beyond that, it will cost you $45 per person to do so, with the exception of children under 2 years of age who can enter free of charge.

Hot Tip: If you add a family member or close friend as an authorized user of your Capital One Venture X card, they’ll receive the same lounge access benefits as you. Better yet, adding authorized users to the card is completely free to do!

If you’re not interested in springing for the Capital One Venture X card, then you can still gain access as a Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Spark Miles for Business cardholder.

With either of these cards, you’ll enjoy 2 free visits per year, and additional visits will cost $45 apiece. You can bring guests in with you for another $45 per person.

Don’t have any of these cards but still want to pay a visit to a Capital One Lounge? Well, all travelers can enter the lounge for $65 per visit, and again any children under 2 are welcome for free. Spending $65 to enter a lounge may feel pretty steep, but when you consider what you might spend on food and drinks at the food court, it might well be worth it to you after factoring in all of the amenities you can use.

One thing to note is that, similar to Amex Centurion Lounges, you can only visit a Capital One Lounge within 3 hours of your scheduled departure time. Further, you must have a valid boarding pass for an upcoming flight. This means that you can visit a Capital One Lounge during a layover, but you can’t visit on arrival if that’s your final destination.

Bottom Line: Here’s a look at all of the lounges you can access in addition to the Capital One Lounges with the Capital One Venture X card.

Capital One Lounge Amenities

Of course, virtually every airport lounge offers basic perks like Wi-Fi, relaxing seating options, opportunities to charge your devices, and complimentary food and drinks. That said, there are quite a few amenities that Capital One Lounges offer that are either an enhancement over a standard lounge experience or completely unique to this network.

Grab-and-Go Food

A to-go food refrigerator is available with plenty of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, juices, yogurts, and more. Image Credit: James Larounis

One new and innovative feature of Capital One Lounges is that they offer grab-and-go food selections for those that are in a hurry, or who would like to grab a few snacks for the plane.

Each grab-and-go area offers a wide range of snacks that are curated by up-and-coming local chefs. At the grab-and-go areas, you’ll find items like still and sparkling waters, sandwiches, fruits, salads, juices, assorted snacks, and more. Each item is prepackaged so you can easily store or carry them through the airport without worrying about making a mess.

Dining Stations

Of course, if you’re looking for something more substantial, Capital One Lounges offer buffets with hot and cold dishes, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. If you’ve ever been to an Amex Centurion Lounge, you’ll find the setup to be similar, with all of the food options being fresh and of high quality.

Fully-stocked Bars

You can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and signature cocktails served by a bartender. While any item you see on the menu is completely free, you’ll have the option to request premium liquor options for a fee.

Coffee Bars

Nothing wears you out quite like a travel day. The coffee bar at Capital One Lounges can give you the pick-up that you need. You’ll have multiple options, including fresh-brewed coffee, cold brew on tap, or a full-service espresso bar.

Quiet Work Zones

Need to get some work done before your flight? Capital One Lounges offer semi-private work areas so you can be productive in a quiet space. Each work zone includes plenty of power outlets to keep your devices charged. Monitors around the rooms display up-to-date flight information.

Relaxation Rooms

Each relaxation room offers immersive nap pods that offer guided meditations or simply provide a quiet place for you to get some shut-eye. Each relaxation room is 100% private, soundproof, and has a closing door — perfect for tuning out the chaos of the airport while you rest.

Luggage Lockers

Want the freedom to stroll around the lounge to pick up food, work up a sweat, or freshen up, but don’t want to worry about lugging your bags around? The Capital One Lounge offers luggage lockers so that you can keep your bags stored in a secured area, giving you peace of mind while you enjoy the lounges other amenities.

Cycling and Yoga Rooms

If you need to loosen up after a long flight, you can get a workout in the cycling and yoga rooms. Each room offers Peloton bikes for a cardio workout and yoga mats for those looking to stretch after a long travel day.

Shower Suites

One of the best benefits of an airport lounge is a shower suite to freshen up before or after a long flight. Fortunately, Capital One Lounges have shower suites available for guests in 45-minute increments, with 15 minutes scheduled between guests for cleaning.

Towels, shampoo, and body wash are provided in the shower suite, so there’s no need to bust out your toiletry bag. However, if you’re planning to use the shower, you might want to schedule your time slot well in advance as it tends to be popular.

Family Area and Parent’s Rooms

Each Capital One Lounge includes a family area with shorter tables and chairs for kids, along with a private nursing room where you can feed or care for your child in a secluded environment.

Multi-Faith Rooms

Another unique amenity of Capital One Lounges is the multi-faith room, which is soundproof and dedicated for prayer, meditation, or quiet reflection.

Hot Tip: A new airport lounge dining concept from Capital One, Capital One Landings, is in development at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. (DCA).

Final Thoughts

While there aren’t many Capital One Lounges at the moment, they are easily one of the nicest airport lounge experiences in the U.S., and definitely rival the ever-popular Amex Centurion Lounges.

If you find yourself in an airport that offers a Capital One Lounge, it will be well worth a visit for Venture and Spark cardholders. Of course, all others can gain access with a $65 fee, but make sure you eat enough to get your money’s worth!

It’s likely that Capital One plans to open many more airport lounges across the country in the coming years, and we will continue to update this page with the latest information when and if it does so!

A commercial on TV claims that Capital One has 1,300 airport lounges available to cardholders. When researching the location of these lounges, I found that only one at Dallas Fort Worth is open. Where do we find these 1,300 lounges?

Hi Curtis. In addition to Capital One lounges, the Capital One Venture X card comes with access to Priority Pass lounges and Plaza Premium lounges. Here’s a breakdown of all the lounges you can access as a cardholder: /credit-cards/reviews/capital-one-venture-x/airport-lounge-access/

I have a Venture card but my phone and tablet are not Apple. I cannot access a Capitol One Mobile App for a digital lounge pass on either device. I wanted a digital pass for a ticket I purchased for another person. They will not have my card.

February 06, 2023

Hi Keller,

You would have to be present in order to guest someone else into the lounge.

I have a priority pass card that I get free as part of my capital one Venture X benefits.
Capital one offers two complimentary guests access to the “Capital one lounges” but there are only two locations.
How many guests can I bring to one of the 1300 priority pass lounge locations?

February 09, 2023

Hi Daniel,

You can bring 2 guests into Priority Pass lounges with you.

I have an OLD Capital One Miles Card. Based on the terms of this card, I think I am entitled to 2 visits a year to a Capital One Lounge/partner lounges . Do you know if I would have to pay for guests?

Keri Stooksbury

May 23, 2023

Hi Twanna – it would probably be best to call the number on the back of your card for confirmation as we’ve not seen any direction that cards outside of the Venture and Spark options mentioned here are eligible for lounge access. Thanks for reading!

So I have an upcoming layover at DFW, staying overnight at HR Regency DFW. My flight arrives at DFW ~5pm, and my next flight out of DFW is ~715am. Since the lounge closes at 9pm, would I be able to access the c1 lounge (via c1 venture x) for dinner on the day of arrival?

Keri Stooksbury

June 07, 2023

Hi Storm – This is a tricky question, but if you are connecting and not on seperate reservations, and the period of 5 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. is technically your layover, it’s certainly worth a try! Otherwise, the Terminal D dining options closest to the C1 Lounge are great. Let us know how it goes and thanks for reading!
